Midvaal: an example of what the ANC and DA deliver

Whenever I cycle through the area, I see the contrast. Midvaal is brilliant, orderly and clean. A kilometre away it is squalour, filth and poverty.

The DA runs Midvaal. The ANC everything around it. The contrast could not be greater.

Rubbish stands for years in the same spot in ANC territory. I know, as I cycle there frequently. The DA removes all its rubbish. Litter is cleared, verges are repaired, grass is cut, there are no potholes.

The ANC renames streets and facilities. The DA leaves Corrie Pypers' and HF Verwoerd's names in place and focuses on services. The place is relatively crime-free, peaceful and just works. Heineken and Ferrero-Rocher have invested vast amounts of money and created hundreds of jobs.

Midvaal collects its rates and delivers its services. The ANC around Midvaal fails to collect either its rates or deliver services.

Down the road the monster that is Sharpeville - ANC country - is precisely the same as it was in 1960.

I know which way I'll vote come 18 May.
