CT roadblock brings M5 to standstill
Rafiq Wagiet | 03 Jun 2011

Lunchtime traffic came to a standstill on the M5, where Cape Town traffic officials conducted a massive roadblock on Friday afternoon.

Traffic between the N2 and Klipfontein Road turn-off on the M5 was bumper to bumper in both directions as traffic officers went about their work.

The roadblock seemed bigger than usual as several squad cars, a traffic caravan and dozens of personnel were involved in the operation.

It formed part of the city’s large-scale operation to catch motorists with outstanding fines and warrants.
