To even begin describe what it has been like over the last month without half our power ... and the half that worked was variable. It breaks your will, your resistance, so much else.
The Eskom team worked until 15 minutes ago, in the dark, to restore our power.
Our borehole will work in the morning, everything will work. The half of our house that did not work, now works. Lights came on like Christmas.
Intaprop, Dip Civils, you have much to answer for.
Eskom has become a truly remarkable organisation.
I took a leaf out of the book of our ex-officio mayor and bought the Eskom team KFC supper before sunset. They are invited for a dram of Julius Malema's favourite tipple tomorrow evening.
I do believe it's over. The effing cables are buried deeper than Jacob Zuma's conscience.
Hilton Road has power again, my wife is fast asleep and happy, and I believe we can get on with our lives now.
Hallelujah!
